The Sun That Doesn’t Rise Or Set
The sun that doesn’t rise or set
For those who don’t believe their eyes,
Who look at it but never let
It set or else ascend the skies—
They are the mortal enemy
Of only a phenomenon
Because what they refuse to see
Is an arisen, setting sun.
And for their having done away
With what they see for what they’re told
They’ve lost the concept of the day
And killed creation manifold,
For they’ve rejected He who made
The universe and all therein,
Ignoring both sun’s light and shade
And any old thing to be seen.
And in its place they worship what
Has nothing that is anymore
Than what in place of it they’ve put
Misunderstanding what it’s for,
And in the absence of those lights
God has suspended in the sky
There are no longer heights or sights
For us to scale God’s ladder by.
