Some People Have A Lot To Say

Some people have a lot to say

As nobody beside is near.

They speak about it in a way

Everyone has to overhear.

So if someone is there or not

It simply doesn’t matter for

A person saying what is what

Might need no interlocutor.

It illustrates how language may

Not be meant to communicate

So much as that it wants to say

Whatever one intends to state.

No matter who’s been spoken to,

Essentially, it’s what is said,

That makes sense to a sayer who

Has an idea inside his head.

There is a Yiddish saying goes:

The crazy person tends to say

What any sensible one knows,

But even so has mum to stay;

That is to say, unspoken words

Are always in a person’s head,

And people aren’t for the birds

Exactly for what may be said.

So that the crazies that we see

Are motivated by their soul,

And really are the same as we

But lack a little self-control.

That should then be a lesson to

Us, if some crazy does appear,

With a reason for what they do

To say what we may overhear.
