Whilst Netanyahu stands alone

Making an absolute appeal

He lets his case be better known

Against Obama’s Iran Deal.

And if his argument was strong,

Being a supplicant, a Jew

Among those he did not belong,

Yet Benjamin Netanyahu

Dared stand up, anyway, before

The Congress, openly defy

The President, and wage his war

Debating with his own ally.

Although Obama would prevail

Upon the Congress, anyway,

His Pyrrhic triumph won’t avail,

Albeit having won this day,

Because the country will not yield

Security that’s under threat

By laying down its sword & shield

On such a gamble and a bet.

Whilst Bibi’s shed a shaft of light

(If it was only just a spark)

That was enough to bring in sight

The very opposite of dark.

The silver lining which this cloud

Reveals is what it’s all about:

That even roundabout its shroud

Of secrecy the truth will out. 

Once by his slingshot and a stone

Against Goliath David fought.

Netanyahu said words that shone;

A miracle again was wrought.
