It’s Every Other Day I Hear

It’s every other day I hear

Of women being killed because

Of “honor killings” that appear

Alright by the Sharia laws

That makes me wonder much about

The jurisprudence practiced by

The Muslims, being, I’m in doubt

About why women have to die

For being raped or otherwise

Abused by someone else instead

So that she’s guilty in the eyes

Of those who want to see her dead.

To victimize the victim so

To satisfy ones honor is

A vicious practice I’d forgo—
