Two fingers are what signify

The iconography of “peace”;

The “v”’s for “victory” is why

We triumph over enemies;

There isn’t any peace without

An exercise of our strength;

For putting power into doubt

All pacifism ends at length.

Swords beaten into plowshares,

As javelins to pruning hooks;

An armistice and fin de guerres,

A legend for the story books;

The promise of “disarmament”

Remains in our heart to stay;

But nonetheless, my argument

Is that its aim stays far away.
