Winds Against Warming

Today, what lots of people say

Is: Earth is coming to an end,

And it will soon be swept away

Accordingly to current trend.

Concerning all that fossil fuel

That’s making our planet hot

(Isn’t it turning awfully cool?)

Yet warming it is surely not—

With cattle eating up the grass

(We aren’t likely to remain)

Before the gas that cattle pass

Asphyxiates us by methane;

While burning all the gasoline

The carbon gases that we spew

So what is happening between

The atmosphere through CO2

Melts down the icy Polar caps

As Oceans then are overflown,

And glaciers coming to collapse

As Capricorn’s a Tropic Zone;

And what are we supposed to do

Faced by the great catastrophe

Which (all is due to me and you)

Through our robust economy?

The answer’s then for us to use

Four winds, at our disposal for,

(There being no time left to lose

Till ocean engulfs every shore)

Consuming lots of Kidney beans,

Let us set up the Windmill-Plan

To make ends meet by any means

By making all the winds we can.
