If it were not for parents where
After all would we have to be,
For, if you haven’t your forbear,
You’re without any ancestry,
And being that you couldn’t come
From nowhere it is fair to say:
You had your parents to come from;
There couldn’t be another way.
If Pharaoh made himself a name
For coming from a river, Nile
Which is to say, he made a claim
He came out like a crocodile,
Whatever Pharaoh may have said,
Nobody now believes it’s true,
As God does what He does instead,
By letting Nature carry through.
Some folks reject their parentage,
(Mythologies are full of that)
While that it seems in every age
People reject where “it” is at,
But as for me, I’m proud to know
My parents being next to none
Would use all their get-up-and go
In getting God’s creation done.
Then, let’s get over calling out
The male or female half of all
Of marriage, that Life is about,
Whatever you decide to call
The problem: it is we are born
Of woman, sired by a man;
So parents cannot be forsworn
As we all do the best we can.
'Tis a puzzlement
