Politically Quite Incorrect

Politically Quite Incorrect

Our Holy Day of Purim is
Politically quite incorrect
As they would do away with this
For finding it to be suspect;

For it depends upon the lot
Cast by a villain, meant to fall
Upon that day his fatal plot
Would do us in, once and for all;

And how, as though by accident,
Against us nothing would avail
Despite their murderous intent—
To finish us we would prevail;

Since Mordecai refused to bow
Before a human being, he
Was confident God won’t allow
Man to be under tyranny;

Those gallows Haman had set up
Constructed 50 amahs high,
Haman himself would hang atop
That he set up for Mordecai;

For enemies armed to the teeth
Awaiting to wipe Israel out
Would end up after underneath
(Ironically all turns about);

But if it were not for the Queen
Of all disguises Esther, who
Revealed herself thus to be seen
So as to save her fellow Jew;

As not once in this Holy Book
Is there a mention of God’s name
Behind events one has to look
For God Who is One in the same.
