And how’d he ever do the thing

Without God’s slaying Goliath?

For David had just one intent,

And but for it wouldn’t prevail;

Because to slay Goliath meant

That “there’s a God in Yisra-el!”

Without the words behind a deed

A deed would never’ve been done

Nor should we ever come to read

Of it, should David not have won!
