The Older That I Tend To Get

The Older That I Tend To Get  II

The older that I tend to get
The younger so it seems to be
The ones left in the younger set
Have the advantage over me,

In being that they’re younger, though
I wouldn’t say that youth is all,
Because what happened long ago
The younger people can’t recall.

For all that they look forward to
That’s in the way of “hope and change”
They fail to understand what’s new
Is not so “wonderful and strange”

As it’s chalked up to be, and that,
In the long run of what became
Of hope has got us where we’re at.
The more things change they stay the same.
