This Spring Is Very Chilly So

This spring is very chilly so

A person has to wonder why

It’s getting warmer even though

The facts the opposite imply,

Because, if it is getting warm

Instead of cooling off, that is,

There’d be some reason for alarm

Which is the opposite of this.

So altering the problem’s name 

To “climate change” as it gets cool

The cause is nonetheless the same:

That we are using carbon fuel;

In other words, no matter what

The problem is or isn’t—you

Have got to see it’s nothing but

There being too much CO2.

Although they never really say

That there’s a lot more H2O

And that without it there’s no way

For anything alive to grow.

But CO2’s that “toxic gas”

That plants depend upon to live

(Imagine there’d be no green grass

If there was the alternative)

Because there’s photosynthesis,

Sunshine and carbon dioxide,

As well as chlorophyl, I guess,

For vegetation to provide

But they say there is too much of

These chemicals and I agree

Yet why they’re so against the stuff

Remains a bafflement to me.
