When I Go To The Doctor’s I
When I go to the doctor’s I
Have often got a while to wait
Which seems to be the reason why
I get there early and stay late.
Whatever may be wrong with me
I know that I am waiting for
The doctor who I want to see
And, for the waiting, need him more
Because whatever brought me there
For being somewhat ached or pained
If waiting’s part of my healthcare
It is my patience that is strained;
So patients, being what they are
For their impatience may get worse
For having to wait in so far
As they’d as soon talk to a nurse.
And being that’s the case I’d say,
For all the nurses that I see
They compensate for the delay
To which the Doc’s subjected me.
This may not be exactly what
A busy doctor has in mind,
But from what I can figure, that
Is, as a patient, what I find;
For care seems secondary to
The reason I am in this place,
For whatsoever they may do
Specifically to treat my case,
Whatever doctors may be for,
I think it’s fair enough to state,
That doctors are for nothing more
Than making patient patients wait.
