For All Those Places We Should See

For all those places we should be

I do believe that anywhere

On earth is good enough for me,

If it is only over there.

I have no patience for those who

Go farther out than our terrain

Toward Mars or any place in view,

As here is where I would remain. 

Since it’s not wealth but poverty

Of mind to seek experience

That goes beyond the earth to see

What is of more significance;

For Space is not where I’d advance:

If I’d my druthers I’d suggest

The really chivalric Romance

Remains in Man’s Quixotic Quest.
