It Seems To Me So Very Strange

It seems to me so very strange

How people are offended by

Words they desire you to change

Without giving a reason why,

Besides the fact they take offense

At anything you have to say

While they engage in arguments

That say it in another way.

For instance baby seems to be

A very controversial word

Which causes folks to disagree

About whatever is averred,

For what some people seem to think

That if an anchor goes along

There’s something awful in the link

Which is rhetorically wrong.

While on the other hand, if you

Refer to babies yet unborn,

Then they will say that is tissue,

And fetal’s okay to be torn.

Those very people who’d decry

Anchor for babies also say,

Unborn simply does not apply

To baby in the news today,

So that the words that people use

To get away with murder will

Become for them a good excuse

For any babies that they kill;

For fetal tissue sounds benign

Although it is the opposite,

Because abortion’s yet malign

Whatever we are calling it,

So, substituting words instead

Is just another way to hide:

One million babies yearly head

To this clinical infanticide.
