It’s Only Been Explained To Me

It’s only been explained to me,

The reasoning that is behind

Why nipples deserve to be free

And not be so unfairly fined.

For showing them in public, so,

As men ought also have to pay

Their penalty, if they should go

Around town in a topless way,

While Women’s Liberation has

Freed every lovely lady, that

Men don’t deserve to get a pass

Without their being ogled at.

For girls are just as good as guys

To go about with a bare chest

So, it should be for girls likewise,

If they try to expose a breast.

The problem is that we are used

To women being ogle-eyed,

So nearly naked they’re excused

For having been objectified.

So, what I fear is coming next

Is—bottomless the gals’ll go

To finally leave men perplexed

If anything is fair for show.

While even if they’d walk about

Without a single thing to don

When everything is hanging out

Nobody then’ll be turned on;

Well, just so far as I might see,

For, all that we enjoy to look,

Love’s not a public thing to me

But private, say, as any nook.
