Outside My Window As I Look I See

Outside My Window As I Look I See

Outside my window as I look I see
The early light ignite the leafy tree.
Although my room is unenlightened by
The rays upon the tree that light my eye

A little breeze that rustles every leaf
Sneaks through the tree as if it is a thief
To turn each over as though looking for
What it had lost only to find once more.

Now all is still, the little breeze is gone,
The sun amid the tree keeps shining on
Whilst not so far at all the chirps I hear
Alert me to some sparrow being near.

A pair of wings, a breeze, the interplay
Of night’s departure at the edge of day;
Whilst I have taken up in hand my pen
I note a moment between now and then.
