Across The River When She Went

Across The River When She Went

Across the river when she went
She split the river into two
Which even when again it blent
Dividing it indeed she’d do.

But not just on her either side,
Upstream and down, to right and left,
The little lady would divide
The rivulet the lady cleft

In front of her, also behind
(In other words, before and aft)
The farther bank where she would find
The river also would be halved.

Whatever she accomplished by
Her crossing over made it so
That she would be the reason why
Time and the river have to flow.
