As Money Signs In People’s Eyes

As money signs in people’s eyes

Get in the way of seeing what

They otherwise might recognize

But for a million dollar note;

I saw a friend of mine once look

Up at a skyscraper, and say,

The money such a building took

Arising skyward in its way,

As off his eyeshades I could see

A cloud above us passing by

He seemed to be so blind to me

In missing such a lovely sky.
