Am meaning to, I do my best

To say it so you may know why

It’s only half what I suggest;

Because to tell you all about

Whatever I have got to say,

No sooner than I’ve let it out

By giving everything away—

What fun would ever be in that?

I doubt if you would ever care

To look into what you’d look at

To see behind it what is there;

For nothing on the surface lies

Is worthy till it’s looked into;

So if you’re wise you recognize

All I’ve to show is just for you.
