Outside My Window There’s A Sky
Outside my window there’s a sky,
I recognize just in between
This twilight and this sunset by
The way it looked as I had seen
In one of Zalman’s paintings that
I saw once in his studio,
So, that which I am looking at
Shares somewhat of its sunset glow.
Nature begins to take on what
We introduce by artifice,
Where, nothing’s within nature, but
What somehow we make out it is,
And even though a person must
Succumb to nature and return
To be no more than stellar dust,
The sunset through his eyes may burn.
Homage To A Painter
