The World That We Live In Is Made
The world that we live is made
Of much that has little to do
With what’s obviously displayed
Unless it’s to be looked into.
For any midnight or high noon,
The daily cycle was made by
Deriving from the sun and moon,
Yet has a week a reason why?
Nature contains none I know of,
Wherein does any week depend
But in the One Who’s Up Above
Who gave Creation its own end.
Then where else for it do we look
Than in a given Sabbath day,
From a commandment in a book
Which isn’t on natural display.
By Six days’ work, all being done,
God took a rest as so to speak,
The Lord said this shall be the One;
So Sabbath created the Week.
