It Seems To Me All Doctors Are
It seems to me all doctors are
In order for supporting staff,
Though nurses—in particular—
Are better far for me by half.
Although doctors effect a cure
A nurse I’d certainly prefer
To doctors that I just endure
So as to get along with her.
For, when I’m in the hospital,
Nothing is really like a nurse
To make me feel I’m very well
Or better if I’m feeling worse.
Whatever that may be about
The doctor simply hasn’t got
The wherewithal to get me out
Of feeling well that I am not.
For there is nothing like a gal
To make up for the expertise
Which doctors in the hospital
Do for a treatment of disease;
As, all the nurses gather round
To say how young it is I look,
As not on paper could be found,
(My age one probably mistook)
For being seen the way they see,
A Chinese girl and Philippine
Can do a whole lot more for me
Than any doctor I have seen.
The fact is what they have to say
Is worthy of my going through
Whatever since it makes my day,
Whatever doctors have to do.
Since, in the end, it’s the result
Of nurses’ talents to appease
The patients that they catapult
Out of a symptom of disease;
So that is more appealing than
The aspirin which takes effect
For nurses show me I’m a man
Whose admiration I’d reflect.
A Procedure
