“I Know, Therefore I Am”

Rene Descartes seems logical,
Albeit he was not so smart,
For seemingly he couldn’t tell
Himself and intellect apart.

If his existence should depend
Upon his meditations, so,
Descartes might in the very end
Be nothing if he didn’t know.

Which is to say, he put the cart
Before the horse or as it were,
His finish went before his start
For whatever he would aver;

For if he wouldn’t think he was,
He simply wouldn’t be at all,
And so, if he could reason thus,
He must have been illogical.
