There Is A Way The South May See

There is a way the South may see

North, East and West may never do,

And their perspective might well be

What we should be looking into.

Because the Civil War was fought

And lost, the South was occupied

Informed by what their people thought

And seen as from the losing side,

They understood that history

Takes turns that only God can make,

That life’s unfolding mystery

Was not by chance nor by mistake,

And that their cause was lost because

They stood upon what was unsound,

And having gone against God’s laws

They lost upon the battleground.
