Horizons Are Those Boundaries

Horizons are those boundaries

Between the earth and sky

Upon which you can never seize

But you’re eluded by.

Approach them and they draw away;

Focus upon what’s far,

And when you get there it won’t stay

But shows from where you are.

The earth and sky appear to meet

Where it lies in between

But beckons only to retreat

And only can be seen,

Yet never touched because it lies

Beyond what’s tangible,

Reminding you to use your eyes

For what’s beyond you still.
